Job Summary
Medical Professionals is seeking a full-time Reimbursement Specialist with medical billing, collections, claims, and accounts receivable experience for a non-clinical healthcare administrative position in Sarasota, FL. This role is responsible for monitoring claims, resolving rejections and denials, researching payment discrepancies, and supporting timely reimbursement from insurance providers and other payers.
Schedule and Pay
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8a-5p, 40 hours per week
Location: Sarasota, FL 34238
Hire Type: Full-Time, temporary assignment
Assignment Length: 2 months
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and follow up on rejected, denied, and returned medical claims.
- Research payment discrepancies and work to ensure timely collections from assigned payers and insurance providers.
- Document account activity, claim status, follow-up actions, and reimbursement updates accurately.
- Communicate with insurance providers regarding reimbursement and payment issues.
- Perform mathematical calculations and audit billing data for accuracy.
- Maintain accurate records in medical billing systems and databases.
- Support billing and collections workflows in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Apply strong attention to detail, follow-up, and critical-thinking skills when resolving reimbursement issues.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1 year of current applicable reimbursement or medical billing experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Billing and collections experience with an understanding of claims billing, CPT codes, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and medical billing software.
- Ability to type at least 30 WPM.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Home health billing experience.
- Experience with Medicaid, Managed Care/Insurance, and Private Payer collections.
- WellSky (Kinnser) experience.
- Associate’s degree.
- Experience with billing workflows and payer follow-up.
