Job Overview: We are seeking dedicated and responsible Last-Mile Delivery Drivers to join our growing team. As a driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of packages to customers using our company-owned vehicles. You will ensure excellent customer service while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, cleanliness, and communication. This position requires flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and nights.
Summary
As a Non-CDL Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to their destinations. With core skills in delivery driving, heavy lifting, you will ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Your premium skills in customer service and warehouse experience will enable you to provide exceptional service to clients and efficiently manage inventory. Additionally, your relevant skills in route driving, load & unload, and using GPS systems will be essential in navigating delivery routes and ensuring customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate company vehicles (cargo vans, box trucks, etc.) for deliveries within designated routes.
- Arrive on time for shifts and adhere to the scheduled start and end times.
- Maintain regular and effective communication with dispatch, clients, and fellow drivers.
- Ensure timely and accurate deliveries, adhering to specific delivery windows.
- Load, unload, and secure items safely in the vehicle before and after deliveries.
- Keep the vehicle clean and organized, and ensure any necessary clean-up is done after use.
- Follow all safety protocols as outlined by the Safety Manager and Samara, ensuring safe driving practices at all times.
- Comply with all traffic laws and regulations, obeying speed limits and other safety guidelines.
- Handle delivery issues such as missing or damaged items, delays, or customer inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Provide exceptional customer service by delivering packages in a courteous and professional manner.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and notify management of any maintenance needs or concerns.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, including documentation of any delays or issues.
- Be flexible with your schedule and available to work shifts during weekends, nights, and other times as needed.
Qualifications:
- Valid New York State driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in delivery or driving positions
- Ability to lift packages up to 60lbs with hand truck and handle physical tasks associated with delivery.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- Familiarity with the New York City area and routes preferred.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, nights, and occasional holidays.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a drug screen upon employment offer
- Agree to License monitoring while employed with the company
- Ability to drive safely and responsibly, ensuring compliance with all traffic and safety regulations
