Unique opportunity for an experienced, self-motivated and ambitious Luxury Travel Expert to join the Product Development team of a leading luxury tour operator, designing and negotiating small group and tailor-made itineraries for discerning clients for Asia + South Pacific.
This is a fully remote position. Ideal candidate have a strong U. S. leisure travel background.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Conceptualize, refine and negotiate new and existing tour programs, executing all needed contract details with suppliers
· Implement programs in-house including pricing, ensuring all contract details are systemically reflected in-house including inventory and operational logistics needed to deliver flawless service
· Manage product reviews with internal team to meet seasonal brochure and web deadlines including the review and revision of copy
· Conduct and communicate frequent market analysis across designated regions to trigger creative new programs as well as be up to date on the competitive tour and FIT landscape.
· Work with product marketing and internal teams to implement new programs online on an ongoing basis to ensure product is broad and fresh
· Interact with Operations ensuring day-to-day operating needs of the tour are met including sufficient inventory to support sales, pricing adjustments, logistical adjustments and cost controls.
· Interact with Operations to ensure they are sending accurate and timely supplier communications including cancellation penalties, release periods, passenger manifests and tour status updates.
· Train internal staff to ensure expertise and fluency in new and existing programs
· Provide product support to internal staff on ensure accurate and timely answers with a goal to close sales. Be the companies subject matter expert for all Asia and South Pacific product.
· Work with product loading team to ensure all needed details have been fully provided so that supplier contracts, services and pricing are loaded accurately and according to shifting priorities
· Manage and maintain ongoing supplier relations in designated regions to ensure excellent service and prepare for seasonal updates of programs and inventory.
· Work consistently and specifically with suppliers to ensure the A+R brand is carried, post tour evaluations are collected, and service standards are excellent throughout the year
· Lead customer service resolution process with Concierge and Operations teams on on-tour, pre and post tour service issues in response to customer comments, tour evaluation forms and online reviews.
· Lead regional response needs for on-tour problem solving including those that fall outside normal working hours and/or weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelors Degree in a travel or business discipline preferred.
· 5 years U.S. leisure travel and tour product development experience. Ideally focused on the luxury space.
· Familiarity with complex Asia and South Pacific tour programs.
· Proven negotiation and analytical acumen.
· Ability to deliver highly personalized customer service
· Excellent organizational and prioritization skills including a strong attention to detail
· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a positive, helpful tone
· Solid mastery of Excel, formula creation, tables
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Extensive travel product knowledge of Asia + South Pacific as a destination for American travelers
· Proven experience in designing package tour itineraries and negotiating contract rates and terms
· Clear understanding of the upscale American traveler and the service levels required to satisfy that traveler
· Excellent (English) verbal communication skills, including articulate phone manner, an energetic attitude, and ability to train
· Excellent written communication skills, including clear communication on sales points and product details
· Proven time management skills:
