Registered Nurse – Radiation Oncology

Pay: $60+/hour + $5.09/hour H&W + Benefits | Full-Time | Day Shift
Team Placement Government Services is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Radiation Oncology Department at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD.
This is an excellent opportunity for an RN who is passionate about oncology care and wants to work in one of the nation's leading research hospitals while supporting patients receiving advanced cancer treatments.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult oncology patients.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after radiation treatments.
- Assess and manage treatment-related side effects.
- Start IVs, perform blood draws, and access/maintain ports.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatments and side effects.
- Collaborate with physicians, radiation therapists, NPs, and the multidisciplinary care team.
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
Requirements
- Current, unrestricted RN license in at least one U.S. state.
- Minimum 2 years of professional RN experience in an acute-care hospital.
- Radiation Oncology OR Ambulatory Care experience preferred.
- Must have hands-on experience with IV starts, blood draws, and accessing ports.
- Current BLS certification.
- Adult oncology experience is highly preferred.
- BSN preferred; ADN may be considered.
