Legal Assistant
Join a Team That Values Initiative, Growth, and Exceptional Client Service
At Coastal Estate Planning & Elder Law, we are looking for someone who wants to learn, grow, contribute, and become an essential part of a team that helps families navigate some of life's most important decisions.
This position is ideal for someone who is interested in the legal field and wants to get their foot in the door with a growing law firm. While some office or legal experience is preferred, this is an entry-level position with opportunities for growth and development for the right person.
We are looking for someone who is organized, dependable, eager to learn, and willing to jump in wherever needed. This role will primarily support our Estate Planning, Medicaid Planning, and Probate teams while helping ensure our clients receive an exceptional experience from start to finish.
Position Details

- In-office position
- Location: 4400 Bayou Blvd., Suite 4, Pensacola, FL 32503
What You'll Do
As a Legal Assistant, you will serve as a key support person to our Estate Planning, Medicaid Planning, and Probate teams. Your role is simple in theory but incredibly important in practice: help move matters forward, support your teammates, and contribute to an exceptional client experience.
This is not a highly structured, task-based position where every day looks the same. We are a growing firm, which means priorities shift, needs evolve, and opportunities to help arise throughout the day.
Some days you may be helping prepare client files, organizing information, communicating with clients, or assisting with legal and administrative projects. Other days you may be helping a teammate solve a problem, tackling a special project, or stepping in to handle something unexpected.
The right person for this role genuinely enjoys being helpful and takes pride in being someone the team can count on.
Responsibilities may include:
- Supporting attorneys and paralegals with a variety of legal and administrative projects
- Assisting with client communication and document collection
- Helping maintain organized files, records, and workflows
- Preparing materials needed for client meetings and ongoing matters
- Following up on tasks and helping ensure projects continue moving forward
- Assisting with firm initiatives and special projects
- Contributing to a positive and professional client experience
- Providing support wherever needed to help the team operate efficiently
The specific responsibilities of this role may evolve as the firm grows, but the purpose remains the same: help the team succeed, serve clients well, and move the ball forward.
This Is a "See a Need, Fill a Need" Position
We are looking for someone who takes ownership.
Someone who notices when something needs attention and steps in to help.
Someone who follows through consistently, not just on the big projects, but on the small details that often make the biggest difference.
Someone who understands that being a great teammate means being willing to jump in wherever needed.
If you are looking for a position where you can simply check off a list of assigned tasks each day and stay strictly within the boundaries of a job description, this likely will not be the right fit.
If, however, you are the type of person who:
- Takes initiative
- Enjoys solving problems
- Adapts well to changing priorities
- Wants to learn and grow
- Finds satisfaction in helping others succeed
- Consistently follows through on commitments
- Takes pride in both the small details and the larger responsibilities
...then you may be exactly who we're looking for.
The most successful people at our firm are the ones who ask, "How can I help?" and then jump in to make it happen.
The Kind of Person Who Thrives Here
You might be a great fit if you are:
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Dependable and consistent
- Eager to learn and grow professionally
- Comfortable juggling multiple priorities
- Flexible and adaptable
- Proactive and self-motivated
- Team-oriented and helpful
- A strong communicator
- Calm under pressure
- Someone who naturally takes ownership and follows through
- Committed to providing an exceptional client experience
- Willing to go the extra mile for clients and teammates
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior office, administrative, customer service, or legal experience preferred
- Interest in estate planning, elder law, probate, or the legal field
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and basic office technology
- Experience with Clio or legal software is a plus
