Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Personal Assistant to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in need of personal care, companionship, and daily living support. Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts or transfer belts
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, reporting findings accurately and promptly
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation
- Administer medications following prescribed schedules while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality
- Support clients with cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer’s disease through memory care techniques and engaging activities
- Maintain detailed care plans, document patient progress, and update records regularly to ensure continuity of care
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment for residents or clients
- Provide emotional support and companionship to foster social interaction and mental well-being
- Use proper techniques for heavy lifting or physical assistance when necessary to ensure safety for both client and caregiver
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, or family members to deliver comprehensive care tailored to individual needs
Qualifications
- Proven experience in home health care, assisted living, nursing home settings, or group homes with a focus on senior or disability care
- Knowledge of first aid, CPR certification, and emergency response procedures
- Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), dementia, or memory-related conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease
- Ability to perform patient observation accurately and recognize signs of health deterioration or distress
- Experience with medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and following care plans in compliance with HIPAA standards
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Physical ability to perform tasks involving heavy lifting or assisting with mobility aids like Hoyer lifts or resident transfers
- Compassionate attitude combined with patience and understanding for diverse client needs
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends or overnight as needed
