Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Staff Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting directly to the Controller, you will play a key role in managing daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end closing processes, and supporting overall financial compliance. This role will operate with a high degree of independence while maintaining constant alignment with the Controller. You will be asked to help oversee some of the accounting operations.
Duties
- General Ledger & Journal Entries: Prepare and post standard, recurring, and adjusting journal entries; maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Month-End / Year-End Close: Assist the Controller with the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including financial statement preparation and variance analysis.
- Account Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee or assist with processing vendor invoices, expense reports, customer billing, and cash application as needed.
- Fixed Assets & Prepaids: Track and maintain fixed asset schedules, depreciation, and prepaid expense amortizations.
- Compliance & Audits: Assist with any tax filings or financial review that may arise.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline current tasks, improve daily processes, and update standard accounting documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Location The job is at our Butner, NC Facility, not remote.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: 1-2 years of hands-on accounting experience, either public or corporate accounting.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Spreadsheet applications (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, basic formulas).
- Hands-on experience with accounting ERP software.
- Experience with Netsuite, Avalara or Shopify are a major plus
- Organizational Skills - the ability to organize and create new documented processes will be key in this role.
- Core Competencies:

- High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills to meet tight monthly deadlines.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and vendors.

Pay: $54,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
