Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Office Insurance Coordinator to join our admin team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice by providing administrative support and assisting with patient care. The ideal candidate will have experience in a dental office setting, with a strong understanding of dental terminology, dental coding, and insurance verification processes.
Prefer a candidate with dental office experience or medical office experience. Pay is based on experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and perform front desk operations.
- Schedule appointments and maintain an organized calendar for the dental team.
- Follow up on patients who have not scheduled for their treatment
- Handle patient check-in and check-out procedures efficiently.
- Verify insurance coverage and assist patients with insurance-related inquiries.
- Discuss treatment plans and insurance benefits with patients and make sure that they get their questions answered and are put on the schedule
- Maintain accurate medical records.
- Process patient billing and payments accurately, including coding using CDT system.
- Support dental staff as needed, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Keep the office environment clean, organized, and welcoming for patients.
- Excellent phone personality and ability to answer calls and schedule patients effectively.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dental office is required. 3 or more years of experience preferred.
- Friendly, outgoing personality; looking for someone who helps direct the office flow and keeps things on track.
- Ability to multi-task as well as to respond positively and quickly to changes in the schedule.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology.
- Experience with dental records management.
- Familiarity with CDT coding is preferred.
- Experience with insurance verification processes in a healthcare environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in Dentrix software applications is an asset.
- Perform end-of-day tasks of balancing a deposit, depositing checks, running the appropriate daily reports to close out the day.
