Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Navigate efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules while optimizing routes for fuel efficiency and safety.
- Transport various types of freight such as refrigerated cargo, flatbed loads, tankers, or automobile transportation with precision and care.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with trucking regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and cargo manifests in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, route adjustments, or any issues encountered during transit.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record and recent experience in commercial truck driving.
- Proven experience in delivery driving, route driving, or over-the-road (OTR) driving routes involving freight transportation.
- Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures, including manual handling of logistics cargo handling.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and route planning software.
- Ability to operate different types of trucks such as tractor-trailers with manual transmission
- Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for transporting dangerous goods.
- Experience with refrigerated trailer operations or automobile transportation is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong commitment to safety standards and excellent driving skills aligned with commercial truck driving requirements.
