Position Summary
The Residential Architectural & Interior Designer serves as the lead designer throughout the Design Phase after the client signs a Design Agreement. This role balances architectural planning with high-end interior design, guiding homeowners from initial concepts through construction-ready plans and complete finish selections. The designer becomes the client's trusted advisor, creating homes that are functional, timeless, cohesive, and reflective of each family's lifestyle.
Client Design Leadership
· Lead homeowners through a collaborative design process focused on lifestyle, function, investment, and long-term value.
· Present concepts professionally and guide decisions with confidence and clarity.
· Manage design schedules and selection deadlines.
Architectural Design
· Measure existing homes and create accurate as-built drawings.
· Develop floor plans, elevations, space plans, kitchen and bath layouts, additions, and whole-home renovations.
· Produce permit- and construction-ready CAD drawings in Chief Architect.
· Coordinate with engineering, estimating, and production.
High-End Interior Design
· Develop complete interior design concepts that create cohesive, timeless living environments.
· Select cabinetry, countertops, flooring, tile, paint, wall treatments, trim, millwork, lighting, plumbing fixtures, hardware, appliances, fireplaces, stair details, furnishings, window treatments, and decorative finishes.
· Develop color palettes, material boards, and presentation packages.
· Balance aesthetics with durability, maintenance, budget, and resale value.
· Stay current on luxury design trends while creating designs that remain timeless rather than trendy.
CAD & Visualization
· Create detailed floor plans, elevations, cabinetry details, 3D renderings, construction details, and presentation drawings.
· Maintain drawing accuracy throughout design revisions.
Project Coordination
· Coordinate with Sales, Estimating, Project Managers, trade partners, and vendors.
· Document all selections and specifications for estimating, purchasing, and construction.
Qualifications
· Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Architectural Technology, or related field.
· 3+ years of residential remodeling or residential design experience.
· Strong proficiency in Chief Architect (preferred), AutoCAD, Revit, or similar CAD software.
· Excellent client communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
· Knowledge of residential construction methods and building codes.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
