We're hiring a hands-on Service Technician whose home base is our shop. The core of this role is bench diagnosis, repair, and overhaul of industrial valves and rotating equipment, with instrumentation calibration and some field service mixed in. You'll work alongside experienced technical staff, build broad expertise across the equipment we service, and have a clear path to grow into senior technical and diagnostic work over time.
-
Shop bench repair (the core of the role):
- Disassemble, diagnose, repair, rebuild, and test industrial valves: safety and pressure-relief valves, vent valves, control and isolation valves
-
Overhaul rotating equipment: centrifugal pumps, gearboxes, and related drivetrain components
-
Service heat exchangers (inspection, cleaning, reassembly)
-
Perform instrumentation and sensor work, including RTD calibrations
-
Provide occasional field service at customer sites: installs, startups, and on-site repairs as needed
-
Read and work from prints, P&IDs, technical manuals, and manufacturer specifications
-
Document work accurately on work orders and service reports: findings, parts used, and recommendations
-
Coordinate with the shop lead and inside sales on parts, scheduling, and job status
-
Maintain a clean, safe, organized shop and follow all safety procedures (including TDI's IIPP and workplace safety policies)
-
3+ years of hands-on industrial mechanical repair experience, including equipment repair, millwright, machinist, or a closely related trade
-
Demonstrated ability repairing valves and/or rotating equipment (pumps, gearboxes, or similar)
-
Strong mechanical aptitude and methodical troubleshooting
-
Ability to read mechanical prints, schematics, and equipment manuals
-
Proficiency with hand and power tools, precision measuring tools, and standard shop equipment
-
Valid driver's license and clean driving record (some field travel required)
-
Dependable, self-directed, and able to work both independently and as part of a shop team
-
Steam turbine experience — overhaul, rotor repair, and vibration analysis (this is a growth area in the role)
-
Experience with steam/condensate systems (steam traps, regulators, PRVs)
-
Service experience in food/beverage, winery, power generation, or heavy manufacturing environments
-
Relevant certifications (mechanical trades, vibration analysis, steam systems)
-
Forklift certification; rigging experience
-
Primarily shop-based, with occasional travel to customer sites
-
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching
-
Work in shop and plant environments with varying temperatures, noise, and occasional confined or elevated spaces
-
Occasional participation in field or after-hours service as needed
-
A clear development path toward senior technical and diagnostic roles
-
Broad equipment exposure across multiple industries — not a single repetitive line of work
-
Medical/Dental/Vision, PTO, Holidays
-
A Veteran-Owned company that values skill, accountability, and craftsmanship
