The orthotic lab technician is responsible for the fabrication, modification, repair, and finishing of custom foot orthotics and orthopedic devices. This role requires precision craftsmanship, attention to detail, and understanding of lower extremity biomechanics to ensure each device meets prescription specifications and the highest standards of quality and patient care.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fabricate custom foot orthotics from casts, scans, and prescriptions.
Modify positives models using biomechanical principles and physician/podiatrist directives.
Grind, shape, finish, and polish orthotic devices to precise specifications.
Laminate, vacuum form, heat mold, and assemble orthotic materials.
Perform quality control inspections to ensure accuracy, durability, and proper fit.
Repair, adjust, and refurbish existing orthotic devices.
Review prescriptions for completeness and communicate regarding fabrication questions.
Maintain accurate production records and workflow documentation.
Meet production deadlines without compromising craftsmanship or quality.
Assist with inventory management, ordering materials, and stocking supplies.
