Job Summary

Duties
- Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese-inspired dishes with precision and artistry
- Maintain the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene in all kitchen areas
- Develop innovative sushi recipes and menu items that excite our guests and reflect current culinary trends
- Manage ingredient inventory, monitor freshness, and ensure proper storage of seafood and other perishable items
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate service flow and uphold efficient kitchen operations
- Educate team members on sushi preparation techniques, presentation standards, and culinary best practices
- Ensure consistent quality control by tasting dishes and adjusting seasoning or presentation as needed
Experience
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role in a reputable restaurant or culinary setting
- Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine, sushi techniques, knife skills, and seafood handling
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and proper sanitation procedures
- Experience in menu development, recipe creation, and ingredient sourcing
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Demonstrated classroom management or training experience is a plus for mentoring junior staff
- Background in culinary arts with specialization or certification in Japanese cuisine or sushi-making preferred
