The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production, and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
· Perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, repairs.
· Repairing chains and bearings of all kinds.
· Effectively communicate with team members.
· Work with a team, or individually and with supervision.
· Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
· Conduct and complete every task in a professional fashion.
· Down time reports; read, understand and know location of machine manuals.
· Willing to ask questions if not understanding.
· Must have a good safety record and a positive attitude.
Qualifications / Experience Required:
· Must have exceptional attendance.
· Capable of fabricating from drawings and sketched and rebuilding of existing parts.
· Have a basic understanding of electricity, hydraulics, some mechanics, and small hand tools.
· Basic understanding of sawmill/dry kiln manufacturing operation.
· Must follow, and recognize standards and codes pertaining to the job.
· Good welding and cutting skills.
· Have a strong mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting skills.
· Capable of doing required documentation legibly e.g.
· Ability to multitask with great attention to detail.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Follow Company safety standards and policies.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to bend, twist and be able to lift up to 50 Lbs. repetitively.
· Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
· Must be able to work extreme weather conditions (summer hot and winter cold).
· Safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel toes shoes/boots are required.
