Position Summary
We are seeking a full-time Dental Assistant to join our team in preparation for the opening of our new Harmar office, projected to open in October.
To ensure a successful transition into the new office, the selected candidate will complete paid training at one or more of our existing Pittsburgh-area locations until the Harmar office opens. This position is ideal for someone who is excited to be part of launching a new practice location while building relationships with our established team.
The ideal candidate will be motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn, working closely with our doctors to provide advanced endodontic care and a welcoming patient experience. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, team-focused environment and values both professional excellence and workplace camaraderie.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist doctors during endodontic procedures with efficiency, precision, and professionalism.
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain a clean, organized work environment in compliance with OSHA and infection-control protocols.
- Capture and process digital dental radiographs (X-rays) according to practice standards.
- Support patient management by providing clear communication, comfort, and post-treatment education.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the practice's electronic dental software.
- Monitor inventory and ensure operatories are fully stocked and ready for use.
- Collaborate with team members to support consistent, high-quality patient care.
- Travel to designated training locations until the Harmar office opens, then transition to the new office as your primary work location. Following the training period, travel to other Three Rivers Endodontics locations may be required to support patient care and operational needs.
Qualifications
- Previous dental assisting experience preferred, but not required -we are willing to train the right candidate!
- Current X-ray certification strongly preferred; must be obtained within 3 months of employment if not already certified.
- Computer literacy and the ability to learn dental software systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate, patient-first mindset.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Must meet all standard work clearances prior to employment.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to our existing office locations during the training period.
Schedule
Full-Time: Monday- Friday, 7:30 AM- 4:00 PM, depending on patient flow. No evenings, weekends, or holidays.
Work Location: In person (Training at existing Three Rivers Endodontics locations until the Harmar office opens, then transitioning to Harmar as the primary work location.)
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)
