Wayan, the Michelin-recognized restaurant from Cédric Vongerichten and Ochi Vongerichten, has been serving Indonesian cuisine with a modern French influence in the heart of SoHo since 2019.
We are currently seeking an experienced Food Runner to join our team.
Training
Position Requirements
- Full-time and Part-time positions available
- Previous restaurant experience required (1+ years of Manhattan restaurant experience preferred)
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume dining environment
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Passion for hospitality and providing exceptional guest experiences
Responsibilities
- Deliver food accurately and efficiently while maintaining presentation standards
- Assist with dining room service to ensure seamless communication between the kitchen and Front of House team
- Develop a thorough knowledge of all food and beverage menus, including preparations, ingredients, allergens, and sourcing
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations and guest areas throughout service
- Perform all opening, running, and closing side work as assigned
- Support both Front of House and Back of House teams to ensure smooth restaurant operations
- Follow the direction of managers and captains while working collaboratively with the service team
- Assist with polishing, stocking service stations, and replenishing restaurant supplies as needed
- Uphold Wayan's standards of hospitality, professionalism, and attention to detail
Physical Requirements
- Position requires standing and walking for extended periods throughout the shift
- Must be able to frequently climb stairs during service
- Must be able to lift and carry items weighing 30–50 lbs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of organization and efficiency
