Job Summary:
CDL Drivers are responsible for operating commercial vehicles to transport equipment, materials, and personnel safely and efficiently to and from designated job sites, in accordance with all DOT and company regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Operate company vehicles (Class A or B) safely and responsibly under all road and weather conditions
- Transport construction equipment, materials, or personnel between yard, suppliers, and job sites
- Perform and document pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections daily
- Maintain proper load securement and follow all DOT load regulations
- Complete and submit logs, mileage reports, and fuel usage documentation as required
- Communicate with dispatch and field supervisors regarding delivery schedules, delays, or hazards
- Assist in loading and unloading of cargo as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of assigned vehicle
- Report on any mechanical issues, accidents, or safety concerns immediately
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods while operating a vehicle
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly
- Frequent bending, climbing in/out of vehicles, kneeling, and walking on uneven terrain
- Tolerance for working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to perform vehicle checks and secure heavy loads
Qualifications:
- Valid CDL (Class A or B, depending on assignment), with current medical card
- Good driving record with no major violations
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations and load securement practices
- Familiarity with driving in work zones, construction sites, and urban traffic conditions
- Ability to operate manual transmission and specialized equipment, if required
- Reliable attendance and strong communication skills
- Must comply with random drug and alcohol testing requirements
