Job Summary
A wonderful teaching opportunity is available in Jersey City. three little birds is a growing, thematic, play-based Early Childcare Center serving infants through kindergarten. We also have a crazy fun summer camp, Camp Chilltown for children in PreK-6th grade and a a thriving After School Program. We are currently located on the West Side but will be relocating to a brand new building in the Bergen Lafayette neighborhood of Jersey City, two blocks from Liberty State Park. We are seeking dedicated and passionate Teachers to join our creative, talented and loving team for our daycare and pre-school, both part time and full time with availability until 6:00. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting an engaging, creative, and nuturing learning environment for children, utilizing effective teaching strategies to foster their social emotional and academic growth. This role requires a strong commitment to childhood development and the ability to implement curriculum development tailored to the needs of each student. We are currently looking for full time and part time Assistant Teachers. All teachers hired will consistently strive to demonstrate and implement the mission and philosophy of three little birds , which is to serve families through our high-quality, creative and fun programs. Our mission is "Our play is our work!"
Duties
- Motivated and willing to develop and implement creative new ideas and initiatives.
- Support the Head Teachers' activities.
- Manage classroom dynamics effectively, ensuring a respectful and productive environment.
- Demonstrate an understanding of a child’s growth and development when working with children
- Communicating with families on a daily basis through Brightwheel App.
- Maintaining positive relationships with our families
- Creating and maintaining a creative, safe, clean and pleasant physical environment conducive to optimal growth and development of children
- Sharing classroom organization and cleaning responsibilities—including keeping equipment and materials accessible and in good condition in order to encourage constructive use by the children.
- Administering first-aid, supervising children’s personal hygiene and learning to identify and report child abuse/neglect.
- Above all, showing a professional enthusiasm and love for teaching!
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field preferred; relevant certifications are a plus.
- Experience working with children in a classroom, daycare, camp, or home setting is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles and best practices in education.
- Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to maintain order while fostering creativity.
- Knowledge of early intervention strategies for children requiring additional support is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
