Claud’s Lawn Care has provided professional lawn maintenance and landscaping Designs throughout Hampton Roads, Virginia since 1987. We focus on providing exceptional service to our Commercial and Residential Clients. Claud’s Lawn Care is hiring a Landscape Crew Leader to join our organization in Portsmouth, Virginia. The Landscape Crew Leader will join a team of dynamic, collaborative, and client-focused professionals who take pride in delivering massive value to the clients we serve.
Essential duties for the Crew Leader will include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and supervise a crew on daily tasks, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Manage diverse working relationships with crew.
- Foster an environment of open communication and creative problem-solving.
- Proactively address service concerns and suggest enhancements or adjustments.
- Coordinate with Managers to ensure all contract services are scheduled and executed.
- Review recommendations from Managers on route efficiencies and crew composition.
- Ensure client expectations are translated into operational plans.
- Recommend changes as needed to protect profitability.
- Ensure crew members are enforcing safety, training, and SOP compliance.
- Provide high client satisfaction, retention, and opportunities for upselling.
- Consistent enforcement of Claud’s Lawn Care standards through Production Manager oversight.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5+ years of crew leadership and experience in landscaping.
- Strong team relationship skills and proactive communication ability.
- Solid understanding of maintenance practices, contracts, and scheduling.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Valid Virginia Pesticide Applicator's License (or ability to obtain license within 6 months of employment).
- Willing attitude: “no job is beneath me,” not a clock watcher.
- Possess a good degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated mechanical knowledge with experience operating landscaping machinery and hand tools.
- Strong background in lawn care, landscape maintenance, gardening, and horticulture practices.
- Familiarity with tree care includes trimming and pruning techniques to promote healthy growth.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems, snow plowing procedures, and general construction practices is preferred.
- Landscape Industry Certified – Lawn Care Manager (LIC-LCM) preferred.
- OSHA certification preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
