Niles Community Schools is seeking an innovative and student-centered CTE Director. This role requires a collaborative leader who demonstrates exceptional communication skills and the highest level of professionalism when working with staff, students, district leadership, industry partners, and the broader community. The CTE Director will guide high-quality career and technical education programming that prepares students for success in college, career, and life.
Position Details:

Reports To: Building Principal or Designee

Calendar: 215 days (43 weeks)

Compensation: Salary commensurate with the credentials and experience of the candidate; tentative starting salary $70,000-$75,000 (full-time, prorated for 2025-2026 if hired mid-year)
Required Qualifications:
-
A valid teaching certificate in the state of Michigan

Experience in the field of Career and Technical Education

A valid administrative certificate in the state of Michigan

A valid Career and Technical Education certificate in the state of Michigan
Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.

Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students for any CTE course in which director is teacher of record.

Identifies student needs and confers with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, or administrators in order to resolve students' academic needs related to progress in the CTE programs.

Maintains professional competence through Professional Development activities provided by the district, professional meetings, educational conferences, and/or self-selected professional growth activities.

Conduct evaluation processes with all personnel according to district and state tenure policies, rules, procedures, and contracts

Provide assessment testing to all eligible CTE students
