The Rise School of San Antonio After-School Coordinator Job Description
About The Rise School: The Rise School’s mission is to provide the highest quality early childhood education for all children—gifted, traditional, and developmental delayed—in an inclusive setting, where individualized learning techniques enable every child to achieve his or her maximum potential. Therapies—speech, physical, occupational and music—are integrated into the daily learning environment. Rise San Antonio opened in August 2024 and serves children between the ages of 12m and 5 years of age. Half of our students are developmentally delayed and half are typically developing.
Job Summary: The After-School Coordinator will be responsible for guiding developmentally appropriate play opportunities for children ages 12m-5y who are enrolled in after-school care. The coordinator will be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean play environment, ensuring the safety of all children in his/her care, and communicating with parents as they pick their children up from after-school care. This is a part-time position that provides an opportunity for those who are looking to expand their knowledge base in early childhood and is ideal for anyone who is pursuing an education in child development, special education, education, or a pediatric-adjacent field. The position will entail covering 15-20 hours a week, typically. Applicants must be available from the hours of 1:00pm-5:30pm. Position carries potential to develop into a full-time teaching opportunity as the school expands.
Responsibilities and Duties:

- Ensure children are actively engaged in a safe and clean play environment at all times.

- Track and log supplies to ensure classrooms are fully stocked for next day’s operation.
- Maintain open lines of communication with teachers so that there is not a lapse in communication between end-of-day-care and next day’s incoming staff.
- Coordinate with teachers to ensure that all children are provided with level of care and supervision that is appropriate for them.
- Ensure that Texas Minimum Standards for Child Care Facilities are being adhered to at all times.
