Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development in toddlers
- Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence
- Manage daily classroom routines, including meal times, nap schedules, and activity transitions with patience and professionalism
- Utilize behavior management techniques to support positive social interactions and emotional regulation among children
- Collaborate with colleagues to design lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, physical education, and Montessori methods where applicable
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress, milestones, and any concerns
- Maintain accurate records of children's development, attendance, and classroom activities in compliance with licensing standards
Skills
- Extensive experience in toddler care and early childhood education settings
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in preschool education
- Proficiency in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management strategies
- Familiarity with special education needs, early intervention techniques, and behavior management approaches
- Excellent communication skills to engage children effectively and collaborate with families and colleagues
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles and developmental stages
- Experience with standardized testing procedures, tutoring young children in foundational skills, and implementing literacy education programs
- Knowledge of Montessori educational philosophies and teaching physical education activities for toddlers
- Commitment to child welfare, safety protocols, and maintaining a positive daycare environment
- Prior preschool or private school experience is highly desirable
