We Are Looking For:
Mental Health Technicians, Full-time, Part-time, and PRN availability
Shifts Available: Days, 7am-7pm and Nights, 7pm-7am
Job Summary:
The Mental Health Technician provides direct patient care and support under the supervision of a licensed nursing staff to geriatric patients. This position promotes a safe, therapeutic environment while assisting patients with daily activities, observing behaviors, documenting patient information, and supporting treatment goals.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Monitor patient safety and conduct routine observations.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living.
- Encourage participation in therapeutic groups and activities.
- build positive, respectful relationships with patients.
- Document patient observations accurately and promptly.
- Assist with crisis intervention using approved de-escalation techniques.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment.
- Communicate changes in patient condition to the nursing team.
- Follow all hospital policies regarding patient confidentiality and safety.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- BLS certification (or ability to obtain after hire).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
