Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled AM Buffet Cook to join our culinary team. This role is essential in preparing and maintaining high-quality buffet offerings during morning hours, ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Duties
- Prepare and assemble a variety of breakfast and brunch items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and presentation quality.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the buffet area, adhering to food safety and sanitation regulations at all times.
- Monitor food levels throughout service hours, replenishing items promptly to ensure an appealing display for guests.
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting new dishes or improvements based on guest feedback and current culinary trends.
- Handle food preparation tasks including chopping, slicing, cooking, and portioning ingredients efficiently.
- Ensure proper food handling techniques are followed to prevent contamination and promote safety.
- Collaborate with dietary department staff to accommodate special dietary needs or restrictions when necessary.
- Support catering functions or special events by preparing additional buffet items as required.
- Maintain accurate records of food inventory and assist with stock rotation to minimize waste.
- Uphold high standards of hospitality by serving guests professionally when needed.

Skills
- Proven experience in dietary department roles or dietary aide positions, with knowledge of specialized dietary requirements.
- Strong background in menu planning, meal preparation, and culinary techniques within a fine dining or upscale restaurant setting.
- Extensive food industry experience including kitchen operations, food handling, and food safety practices.
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking methods essential for buffet presentation.
- Familiarity with catering services and large-scale food service operations.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and ensuring seamless service delivery.
