Pay: $22–$32 per hour, depending on experience
Job Type: Full-time | Temp-to-Hire Opportunities & Direct hire
Schedule: Monday–Friday with overtime available depending on the project
Job Overview
Trades Exchange is hiring experienced Commercial Plumbers for active and upcoming projects throughout Knoxville and the surrounding area. We are looking for dependable plumbers who can work independently, follow project drawings, and complete installations safely and accurately.
Long-term and temp-to-hire opportunities are available for candidates who demonstrate strong attendance, quality workmanship, and a professional attitude.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain commercial plumbing systems
- Install water, waste, vent, and drainage piping
- Work with PVC, CPVC, copper, cast iron, and PEX
- Measure, cut, thread, solder, press, and assemble piping
- Install plumbing fixtures, valves, supports, and hangers
- Read blueprints, specifications, and plumbing layouts
- Perform rough-ins, underground work, and finish installations
- Test systems and identify leaks or installation issues
- Follow OSHA regulations and project-specific safety procedures
- Coordinate with supervisors and other construction trades
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of commercial plumbing experience preferred
- Working knowledge of commercial plumbing systems and materials
- Ability to read a tape measure and understand basic blueprints
- Experience with rough-in, top-out, and fixture installation
- Must own basic plumbing hand tools
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have appropriate PPE, including steel-toe boots, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and high-visibility vest
- Ability to lift materials, climb ladders, and work in active construction environments
- Must be dependable and report to work on time
- OSHA 10 certification is preferred but not required for every project
