The General Manager, Primary Operations is a critical leader within ATI Specialty Rolled Products (SRP), with comprehensive responsibility for the performance, strategic direction, and continuous improvement of the organization's melting and hot rolling operations. This leader integrates deep technical and metallurgical expertise with world-class operational leadership to ensure the safe, reliable, and cost-effective production of high-purity materials that meet the exacting requirements of aerospace and other demanding specialty markets.
The General Manager will lead with a strong executive presence and a relentless focus on safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and people. This leader will establish and execute an operational strategy that enables profitable growth, strengthens competitive advantage, and consistently delivers exceptional value to customers and shareholders.

Through disciplined execution, thoughtful change leadership, and development of high-performing teams, the General Manager will drive measurable improvements in operational performance while positioning SRP for sustained growth.
Essential Functions
- Lead the end-to-end performance of Primary Operations, including melting and hot rolling, with accountability for safety, quality, reliability, productivity, cost, delivery, inventory, and employee engagement.
- Establish and execute the operational strategy in alignment with SRP and ATI business objectives, ensuring resources, priorities, and investments are focused on the highest-value opportunities.
- Champion a world-class safety culture, ensuring safety is embedded in daily operating discipline, leadership behaviors, decision-making, and accountability at every level of the organization.
- Drive operational excellence and right-first-time quality, establishing rigorous standards and systems that consistently meet or exceed customer requirements, particularly within demanding aerospace and specialty applications.
- Improve delivery performance and manufacturing responsiveness, building the capability and discipline required to support accelerated growth in strategic markets.
- Deliver significant, measurable, and sustainable improvements in productivity, cost, lead time, quality, equipment reliability, inventory, and overall operating performance.
- Lead a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging Lean principles, data-driven problem solving, standard work, process discipline, and best-practice sharing to continuously raise the performance of the organization.
- Strengthen equipment reliability and asset utilization, partnering with maintenance, engineering, technology, and other functions to improve uptime, capacity, process capability, and return on invested capital.
- Partner closely with Commercial, Supply Chain, Technology, Finance, and other functional leaders to optimize the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process and align demand, capacity, inventory, capital, and operational priorities.
- Build organizational capability and develop talent, creating a strong leadership pipeline and actively coaching leaders to improve individual and team performance.
- Create a culture of accountability and ownership, setting clear expectations, establishing measurable goals, and holding leaders and teams accountable for results.
- Lead organizational change effectively, communicating a compelling vision, engaging employees, and maintaining momentum through periods of significant growth, transformation, or operational change.

- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
- 10 years of technical metallurgical melting experience.
Preferred Requirements:
- Master's degree.
- Broad operations management experience in a complex best-in-class manufacturing environment.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong business acumen with experience or exposure in other functional areas of commercial, technical and/or finance.
- Ability to understand the commercial, operational, and financial priorities of the business and align operations strategy and initiatives in the areas of highest impact.
- Managerial courage and influencing skills to partner effectively with the broader business unit leadership team.
- Track record of driving and managing change in a dynamic environment and achieving results by setting high standards and holding people accountable for performance.
- Proven experience leading, developing and coaching to improve individual and team performance.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, results focused environment.
- Ability to establish credibility and influence peers, and other management team members with a command of facts.
- Strong grasp of continuous improvement concepts and tools with demonstrated ability to effectively lead cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent time management and project management skills – ability to plan, organize and execute within tight timeframes.
- Attention to detail and ability to effectively manage and prioritize high volume of work and deliver accurate and effective output.
