Responsibilities
Assesses and treats patients referred for Occupational Therapy. Organizes and conducts Occupational Therapy programs to restore function, maximize independence, reduce pain, and prevent or correct disability.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy. PREFERRED QUALITFICATIONS: 1) Masters or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy, 2) Certification in Physical Agent Modalities, 3) Advanced Specialty Certification, including, but not limited to: Physical Rehabilitation (BCPR), Environmental Modification (SCEM or SCEM-A), Low Vision (SCLV), Gerontology (BCG), OTR (Occupational Therapist Registered) INPATIENT PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1) 2 years acute care Occupational Therapy experience COMPETENCY: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification is required within the first 90 days of hire, thereafter an annual BLS refresher will be required. Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development required for effective communication and care of child, adolescent, adult, and older adult. ADDL CONSIDERATIONS: Frequent stooping, pushing, pulling and lifting is required when moving patients and/or equipment during treatment. Due to the nature of the work, good interpersonal skills and sensitivity are necessary. Florida State licensure to practice Occupational Therapy.
