Cerebral Palsy Associations of New York State's Metropolitan Division is one of New York City's largest community service organizations. We are seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanic to join our Facilities team and support our mission of providing safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environments for the people we serve.
Position Summary
The HVAC Mechanic performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC, electrical, and building systems at agency locations throughout New York City.
Responsibilities
- Perform minor electrical repairs and maintenance.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and air conditioning equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on ventilation and air conditioning systems.
- Complete general building maintenance and equipment repairs.
- Assist with plumbing, drywall, and basic construction repairs as needed.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow all applicable safety standards.
- Travel to agency locations throughout the five boroughs.
Qualifications
- Current Universal EPA Refrigerant Certification required.
- Experience with HVAC maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Knowledge of ventilation systems, air conditioning codes, and preventative maintenance practices.
- Experience with plumbing, drywall, basic construction, and equipment repair strongly preferred.
- Ability to work in healthcare and childcare-regulated environments.
- Valid New York State driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to travel throughout all five boroughs of New York City.
