Cabinetmaking or commercial casework experience is required. Please do not apply if you have never built, assembled, or installed cabinets—we are currently looking for someone who can contribute without starting from the basics.
We are a small custom millwork and commercial casework company in Richmond, Virginia, looking for an experienced, dependable cabinetmaker to join our shop. This is a good opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, understands cabinet construction, and prefers working with a smaller company where their skills and effort are noticed.
Responsibilities
- Build and assemble commercial casework, cabinets, and custom millwork
- Read shop drawings, plans, measurements, and cut lists
- Assemble cabinet boxes, drawers, doors, panels, and finished components
- Install hinges, drawer slides, hardware, and accessories
- Operate common woodworking tools and shop machinery safely
- Laminate, trim, sand, and prepare finished cabinet components
- Check completed work for proper dimensions, fit, and quality
- Assist with loading, deliveries, and installations when needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area
- Work independently while communicating with the shop owner and other team members
Required Experience
Applicants must have previous hands-on experience in at least one of the following:
- Cabinetmaking
- Commercial casework
- Architectural millwork
- Custom woodworking
- Cabinet assembly or installation
You should be comfortable using tools such as table saws, routers, drills, sanders, nail guns, and other standard woodworking equipment. Experience with CNC machinery, edge banders, laminates, commercial hardware, or reading detailed shop drawings is a strong advantage.
