Position Overview
Melville Candy Company is seeking a reliable and organized Parcel Driver / Shipping Associate to support daily deliveries, parcel shipments, and warehouse logistics operations. This role is responsible for ensuring products and freight are delivered safely, accurately, and on time while supporting shipping operations within the warehouse. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that combines driving and shipping responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick up and deliver parcels and freight to customers and partner locations on time
- Load and unload vehicles safely while ensuring cargo is properly secured
- Prepare and process small parcel shipments using FedEx, UPS, and ShipStation software
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any issues promptly
- Adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company driving policies
- Communicate proactively with supervisors regarding delays, route issues, or delivery concerns
- Assist with general shipping and warehouse operations as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles and shipping areas
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Previous delivery driving or shipping experience preferred
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to safely lift and move packages throughout the shift
- Comfortable using shipping software and technology systems
- Dependable attendance and strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
