Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistency and presentation excellence
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and food prep tools
- Follow food safety protocols and handle ingredients with care to maintain cleanliness and prevent cross-contamination
- Assist with meal preparation, slicing techniques, and portion control to ensure timely service
- Maintain a clean and organized work station by adhering to cleaning schedules and sanitation procedures
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to coordinate orders, communicate effectively, and ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Support menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient quality and preparation methods when needed
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service within a restaurant or catering environment
- Strong knowledge of safety standards in production, food handling, and kitchen hygiene practices
- Excellent knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques for various ingredients
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining high cleanliness standards
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and ensure seamless meal service
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures, dietary aide experience, or food industry standards is a plus
- Knowledge of recipe adherence, meal preparation processes, and food safety management practices
