Position Summary
The Operations Supervisor plays a key role in supporting daily hotel operations and ensuring exceptional guest experiences. This position provides hands-on leadership and operational support across Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and other hotel departments.
The Operations Supervisor serves as a resource for associates, assists with operational execution, supports service recovery, and helps maintain Marriott brand standards throughout the property.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide visible leadership and support throughout the hotel.
- Serve as Manager on Duty when assigned, responding to guest concerns and operational needs.
- Assist Front Office operations including guest arrivals, departures, requests, and service recovery.
- Monitor daily hotel operations to ensure cleanliness, safety, and service standards are maintained.
- Support Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Engineering, and other departments as needed.
- Communicate guest concerns, maintenance needs, and operational updates to appropriate leaders.
- Coach and support associates to deliver exceptional guest service.
- Assist with associate training, onboarding, and reinforcement of hotel procedures.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive workplace culture.
- Assist with scheduling, timecard review, and administrative tasks as assigned.
- Support inventory management, supply tracking, and operational processes.
- Conduct routine property inspections and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Assist with emergency response procedures and incident reporting.
- Maintain compliance with Marriott brand standards, company policies, and safety procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous hospitality, hotel, or customer service leadership experience preferred.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Previous hotel supervisory or Manager on Duty experience.
- Marriott brand experience.
- Experience in Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, or hotel operations.
- Experience with Lightspeed PMS or comparable property management systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Schedule Requirements
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on business needs.
- Hotel operations run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.
- Minimum availability of 16 hours per week required for part-time associates.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, reach, lift, and move throughout the hotel environment.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work throughout guest rooms, public spaces, and food & beverage areas.
