American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position at a cardiac-focused step-down unit in Clyde, NC, requiring at least 2 years of step-down or ICU experience and an active NC or compact RN license.

Work on the 4th floor Progressive Care Step-down Unit of a 154-bed, Joint Commission Accredited hospital located in Clyde, NC, approximately 20 miles from Asheville

22-bed cardiac specialty unit serving adult patients, including cardiac observation, post-cardiac cath lab patients, and cardioversion cases

Patient ratio of 4:1

Telemetry monitoring equipment used throughout the unit

EMR: Paragon

Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Every other weekend required
-
No on-call requirements

Floating required

13-week contract

Active NC or compact RN license required

Minimum 2 years of experience required

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) minimum education required

Step-down or ICU experience required

Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS

Candidate must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate

Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible

Scrub color: Navy; offensive tattoos and non-facility tops are not acceptable

Orientation is held bi-weekly

Team-oriented candidates with strong communication skills and flexibility are preferred

The facility is located near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, with easy access to Asheville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Knoxville, and Greenville
