Security is responsible for maintaining a safe, controlled, and welcoming entrance while serving as one of the first impressions of Marlowe.
This is not a traditional “bouncer” position. We are seeking someone social, charismatic, polished, and emotionally intelligent—someone who can welcome guests naturally, recognize VIPs and regulars, read a situation quickly, and enforce standards without creating unnecessary tension.
The ideal candidate understands that effective security is built through awareness, communication, hospitality, and calm authority.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcome and engage guests with confidence, warmth, and professionalism
- Verify identification and enforce age requirements accurately
- Coordinate guest entry with hosts, management, and the VIP team
- Support organized lines, reservations, walk-ins, and overall entrance flow
- Recognize VIPs, regulars, and special guests while maintaining discretion
- Enforce venue policies consistently, respectfully, and without discrimination
- Monitor guest behavior and identify potential concerns before they escalate
- Use calm verbal de-escalation whenever possible
- Refuse entry or remove guests professionally when necessary
- Monitor capacity, exits, restricted areas, and entrance surroundings
- Assist intoxicated or distressed guests safely and respectfully
- Respond appropriately to emergencies, disturbances, and medical situations
- Document incidents clearly and communicate concerns to management
- Coordinate with law enforcement or emergency personnel when directed
- Maintain a polished, attentive, and approachable presence throughout the shift
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous security experience in upscale nightlife, luxury hospitality, hotels, restaurants, or entertainment venues preferred
- Naturally social, charismatic, and comfortable engaging with a wide range of guests
- Strong situational awareness and ability to read people and environments
- Excellent judgment, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
- Calm, confident, and professional under pressure
- Able to establish authority without unnecessary aggression
- Discreet when interacting with VIPs, public figures, and sensitive situations
- Reliable, punctual, observant, and team-oriented
- Valid Texas security registration or licensing when required for the assignment
- CPR, First Aid, or de-escalation training preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical duties of the position
- Availability to work evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays as required
