Job Title: Purchasing Manager – Industrial Equipment & Mechanical Components
Role Summary We are seeking a Purchasing Manager with a strong mechanical background to support the procurement of components used in the fabrication of industrial flour and corn tortilla ovens. This role requires hands‑on knowledge of mechanical parts, fabrication materials, and industrial systems to ensure all purchased items meet engineering and production requirements.
Core Responsibilities
- Source and purchase mechanical components: motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, burners, valves, sensors, sheet metal, and structural materials.
- Review engineering drawings and BOMs to verify part specifications before ordering.
- Collaborate with engineering to qualify new suppliers and validate technical compatibility.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and contract terms with vendors.
- Track deliveries, manage inventory levels, and resolve supply chain issues.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, vendor files, and cost histories.
- Identify cost‑reduction opportunities without compromising quality or performance.
- Support production by ensuring critical components are available on time.
Requirements
- Mechanical aptitude—comfortable discussing tolerances, materials, and component function.
- 3–7 years of purchasing experience in manufacturing or industrial equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot part discrepancies and work with vendors on technical issues.
- Strong understanding of fabrication materials (steel, stainless, aluminum) and machining processes.
- ERP experience and strong documentation habits.
- Bilingual English/Spanish
Nice to Have
- Experience with gas‑fired ovens, conveyors, or food‑processing machinery.
- Knowledge of industrial controls, sensors, and electrical components.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
