Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and patient-focused PACU RN with specialized cosmetic surgery experience for a PRN role at our outpatient surgery center in Tysons Corner, VA. The selected candidate will manage the immediate post-operative recovery of adult patients undergoing elective cosmetic procedures. Key Responsibilities
- Manage immediate post-operative recovery of adult patients following elective cosmetic surgeries.
- Monitor airway safety, vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and anesthesia emergence in an ambulatory setting.
- Assess cosmetic surgical sites, operative flaps, compression garments, and specialized surgical dressings.
- Administer post-op medications and manage acute pain and post-operative nausea/vomiting (PONV) protocols.
- Deliver thorough, comprehensive discharge teaching to adult patients and their designated drivers.
- Collaborate effectively with the anesthesia provider and surgical team to facilitate rapid, safe discharges.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Licensure: Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or valid multi-state compact license.
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of dedicated PACU or Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience. Note: ICU-only experience without PACU background is not applicable.
- Certifications: Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
- Skills: Superior clinical assessment skills tailored to early detection of bleeding or hematoma, paired with premium customer service skills suitable for a high-end private practice clientele.
