Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Attendant to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in various care settings. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Monitor patient conditions through observation of vital signs, behavior, and overall health status
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed, ensuring dietary restrictions are followed
- Operate patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling devices for safe mobility
- Maintain cleanliness of residents’ personal spaces and common areas through regular cleaning routines
- Document patient progress, update care plans, and communicate effectively with healthcare teams about changes in condition
Skills
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred
- Proficiency in patient observation and recognizing signs of distress or deterioration
- Ability to assist with ADLs and provide personal care assistance with compassion and professionalism
- Skilled in using patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and understanding manual handling techniques
- Capable of performing first aid and CPR confidently in emergency situations
- Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, patient transfer methods, and long shifts on your feet
