Role Overview
As our Director of Nursing (DON), you’ll lead all clinical and administrative aspects, ensuring smooth daily operations across Pre‑Op, OR, and PACU. You’ll implement policies, quality initiatives, and regulatory standards, while serving as a role model and mentor to nursing and perioperative staff.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Operations & Leadership
- Provide strategic and clinical leadership across all nursing units—Pre‑Op, OR, PACU.
- Manage daily clinical staffing, scheduling and resource allocation to optimize patient flow and departmental efficiency.
- Serve as a hands-on clinical resource—circulate, scrub, lead during high-acuity cases as needed.
Quality & Regulatory Compliance
- Develop, evaluate, and maintain nursing care standards, policies and SOPs; integrate evidence-based practices.
- Oversee infection control, risk management, quality assurance, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with state licensing and accreditation standards (AAAHC, Joint Commission/AAAASF, CMS, OSHA).
- Oversee chart reviews and medical record accuracy.
Staff Development & Supervision
- Hire, orient, evaluate, and mentor nursing staff, surgical techs, and perioperative personnel; maintain competencies.
- Conduct performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and ongoing professional development .
- Foster a collaborative and positive culture, supporting succession planning and teamwork .
Financial & Budgetary Oversight
Collaborate with Medical Director and Director of Operations to:
- Manage clinical budget including staffing and supply utilization.
- Implement cost-control strategies without compromising care quality.
Operational & Administrative Duties
- Participate in leadership and quality meetings, and follow through with action items as required.
- Coordinate accreditation surveys and reporting of significant events to compliance and leadership teams.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, administration, and support staff to ensure a seamless patient experience.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- RN license in California
- BSN required; MSN preferred
- Minimum 5 years of OR experience (hospital or ASC), with ≥3 years in perioperative leadership
- Prior supervisory experience in an ASC OR/PACU/Pre‑Op setting
- ACLS, BLS, and PACU certification
- Deep familiarity with multi‑specialty cases—especially ortho and spine
Preferred:
- Experience with high-acuity procedures (spine, total joints, CV/PV)
- Proficient in quality improvement methodologies
- Working knowledge of accreditation processes, OSHA, CMS, state regulations

- Exceptional leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution abilities
- Thrives under pressure, adaptable to flexible scheduling
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with proficiency in MS Office and EMR systems

Pay: $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
