Quality Assurance Manager – Food Manufacturing

A growing food manufacturer is looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead plant-level quality and food-safety programs. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone comfortable working directly with production, sanitation, plant management, customers, and regulatory auditors.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the facility’s food-safety and quality systems, including SQF and FDA compliance
- Prepare for and lead customer and regulatory audits
- Investigate deficiencies and make sure corrective actions are completed promptly
- Review production data and product-testing results to identify quality concerns and improve processes
- Provide guidance on cGMPs, sanitation, sanitary equipment design, allergens, pest control, and food microbiology
- Develop and deliver food-safety and quality training for employees and plant leadership
- Hire, coach, and manage the Quality Assurance team
What You Need to Be Considered
- At least five years of operations or quality experience within food manufacturing
- Current or previous certification in SQF, HACCP, PCQI, or a closely related food-safety program
- Working knowledge of food-processing regulations, sanitation, allergens, foodborne illness, preservation, pest management, and microbiology
- Previous supervisory or department-leadership experience
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and follow-through skills
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, biology, chemistry, or a related field
