About the Company
Animal Cancer Care Clinic (ACCC) offers a unique opportunity to practice high-quality urgent care medicine within one of the largest and most established veterinary oncology-focused specialty groups in the country. ACCC is recognized for its dedicated focus on cancer care, advanced treatment capabilities, and a deeply loyal client base that values expertise, compassion, and continuity of care. Our collaborative model integrates medical oncology, radiation oncology, and surgical services, allowing for a level of case management and support not typically available in traditional urgent care or emergency settings.
About the Role
This role is designed as a lifestyle-forward alternative to traditional ER positions. The schedule is flexible with no overnight shifts, and no "on-call" —providing predictability and work-life balance while still allowing for engaging, medically complex cases.
The Immediate Care Veterinarian works alongside board-certified specialists and a highly skilled, experienced nursing team, ensuring strong clinical support, shared decision-making, and reduced professional isolation.
The department is led by a board-certified critical care specialist with 30 years of clinical and leadership experience. This environment allows doctors to focus on delivering excellent medicine without the stressors commonly associated with understaffed or overnight emergency settings.
Clinically, this role provides a compelling mix of urgent care, stabilization, diagnostics, and procedural work. Most importantly is the added benefit of seamless access to specialty service consultation, providing advanced diagnostics, staging, and treatment. Doctors are supported by a strong technician-to-doctor ratio, allowing for efficient case flow and high-quality patient care. The presence of oncology patients also creates opportunities for meaningful client relationships and continuity of care that are often absent in traditional ER environments.
Required Skills
- Experience in urgent care or emergency veterinary medicine.
- Strong clinical skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team.
Preferred Skills
- Board certification in a relevant specialty is a plus.
- Experience with oncology patients is preferred.
Compensation Package
The position offers a competitive and balanced compensation package, including relocation and sign-on bonus commensurate with the applicant’s experience. ACCC’s immediate care doctor compensation is structured to reward both individual contribution and team collaboration. In addition, a departmental bonus is included. When the department meets defined revenue and efficiency benchmarks, a bonus pool is distributed among participating doctors. This model encourages collaboration, supports shared case management, and aligns incentives across services rather than creating competition for production credit.
Benefits include:
- Three weeks of paid time off
- Generous CE allowance and 4 CE days
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Professional licensure coverage
- Retirement plan options
- Relocation and/or signing bonus
Overall, this position is ideal for veterinarians seeking a sustainable, team-oriented alternative to emergency practice—one that combines clinical challenge, professional support, and a significantly improved quality of life within a respected and growing specialty organization.
