Job Summary
We are seeking reliable and experienced POS / Pin Pad Field Technicians to provide onsite support for payment processing devices at retail locations. This independent contractor opportunity is ideal for technicians with experience in hardware installations, device replacements, and break/fix support.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, replace, and configure payment terminals and pin pad devices
- Perform onsite troubleshooting and break/fix repairs
- Disconnect and reconnect peripherals, power, and network connections
- Verify device functionality and successful transaction processing
- Complete equipment upgrades, swaps, and deployments according to project guidelines
- Document work performed and update service tickets in real time
- Communicate professionally with store personnel and support teams
- Follow all site procedures and service-level requirements
Requirements
- Previous field service experience with POS systems, pin pads, or retail technology
- Strong hardware troubleshooting and installation skills
- Basic networking knowledge, including Ethernet connectivity
- Ability to follow detailed installation instructions
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to customer locations
- Smartphone with internet access for communication and ticket updates
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Verifone, Ingenico, PAX, or similar payment devices
- Experience supporting retail technology deployments
- Low-voltage, structured cabling, or networking experience
Tools Required
- Basic hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, cutters)
- Smartphone with camera and internet access
- Laptop (preferred)
- Basic network testing tools (preferred)
Pay: $25.00 per hour
