Description
The Agency Finance leader is responsible for driving financial planning, long-term forecasting, reporting, controls, and operational excellence across Comparion Insurance Agency (CIA), the Liberty Mutual Insurance Agency (LMIA), and the broader Agency Distribution Services (ADS) organization. This individual serves as a critical thought partner to business leaders, providing strategic financial insights that inform channel economics, compensation design, and growth initiatives. The role leads a team that ensures revenue is accurately captured and allocated, expenses are managed with discipline, and financial operations — including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and compensation administration — run with precision and efficiency.
Responsibilities

Lead annual and ongoing planning/forecasting processes for CIA, LMIA and ADS.

Own P&L development, Monthly Operating Reviews (MORs), and budget-versus-actual reporting for CIA and LMIA Choice channels.

Partner with USRM (US Retail Market) Finance to ensure CIA and LMIA financial plans and results are accurately reported in consolidated USRM financials.

Facilitate the stakeholder expense roadmap process, connecting investment decisions to business outcomes and productivity metrics.

Implement and maintain financial reporting and controls that support accurate, timely, and compliant financial results.

Oversee revenue allocation, booking, and reconciliation processes; ensure adherence to accounting standards and policy.

Manage contract set-up, mapping, invoicing, and ongoing financial support in partnership with internal stakeholders.

Oversee accounts receivable (carrier and vendor receivables) and accounts payable (agent and vendor disbursements) functions, ensuring on-time and accurate payments.

Build and continuously improve best-in-class compensation operations processes that enable compensation design, stewardship, implementation, and recognition program delivery.

Serve as the source of truth for financial results, drivers, and operational metrics.

Act as a critical thought partner to senior business leaders, supporting business strategy, channel economics, and agency growth initiatives.

Partner across ADS to support and understand ongoing agency initiatives, ensuring financial implications are surfaced and incorporated into decision-making.

Lead, develop, and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Qualifications-
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field

7–10+ years of progressive experience in financial planning & analysis, accounting, or financial operations, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership/management capacity

Deep expertise in FP&A processes including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and P&L management

Strong understanding of revenue recognition, financial controls, and accounting standards

Proven ability to serve as a strategic finance partner to senior business leaders

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights

Experience in insurance, financial services, or agency/distribution environments

Familiarity with agent compensation structures and channel economics

Background supporting multi-channel or multi-site distribution organizations

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
