Overview
The Superintendent is a highly skilled construction professional responsible for daily field leadership, technical guidance, crew supervision, and jobsite execution. Working together with the Project Manager, this role ensures smooth project operations, adherence to project specifications, budget, and the highest levels of craftsmanship, safety, and efficiency.
The Superintendent serves as the primary on-site leader, coordinating trades, supporting field crews, and fostering a safe, respectful, and professional jobsite environment that reflects Thomas Fragnoli Construction’s values.
Key Responsibilities
Jobsite Leadership & Communication
· Act as the primary point of contact for on-site operations.
· Reinforce TF’s culture of safety, respect, communication, and quality.
· Lead weekly safety and labor planning meetings and conduct orientations for new workers and subcontractors.
· Set daily and weekly work priorities and assign tasks to crews based on skills and project needs.
· Coach and mentor carpenters, apprentices, and laborers to build skills and maintain high standards.
· Collaborate with the Project Manager to forecast project needs and adjust workflow.
· Maintain a safe, secure, clean, and positive jobsite environment.
Technical & Field Oversight
· Perform and oversee complex layout, including elevations, grids, use of lasers, transits, and digital instruments.
· Interpret and implement construction documents, blueprints, and shop drawings with precision.
· Coordinate and inspect all scopes of the project, including TF installation of formwork, framing, roofing, siding, and finish carpentry and window install for accuracy and quality.
· Oversee task sequencing to align with the schedule, stay within budget and minimize delays.
· Complete and maintain project 6 week look ahead schedules in excel.
· Troubleshoot field issues and implement practical, cost-effective solutions, discussing with PM and design team as needed
· Interface with inspectors, utility providers, and city officials to ensure compliance and readiness for inspections.
· Order and track materials, verifying deliveries for accuracy and quality.
· Maintain and oversee use of company tools, equipment, and safety gear.
· Conduct daily site inspections for hazards, cleanliness, and protocol compliance.
· Enforce environmental protection practices as required by contracts.
Project Management Support
· Assist the Project Manager with maintaining and updating the master schedule.
· Identify discrepancies between drawings and field conditions; coordinate RFI submissions.
· Prepare and manage punch lists with subcontractors to expedite completion.
· Support quantity take-offs, procurement requests, and temporary protections.
· Lead quality assurance checks during key phases (structural, pre-drywall, waterproofing, final inspections etc.)
· Track costs associated with time, materials, and change orders.
· Document daily field activities, including time tracking, issues, delays, and photos, in project management software.
Qualifications
· 5+ years of recent, consecutive experience as a lead Superintendent independently managing high-end, single-family custom residential projects
· Proven ability to run a dedicated jobsite independently while coordinating closely with a Project Manager
· Strong leadership ability managing crews and subcontractors in active jobsite environments
· Deep knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and high-end residential detailing
· Advanced layout and field skills (lasers, transits, elevations, complex dimensions)
· Demonstrated ability to solve problems in the field and maintain project momentum
· Experience working in remote or logistically challenging environments
· Strong ability to coordinate multiple trades while maintaining schedule and quality
· High attention to detail with strong quality control standards
· Clear and direct communicator with field teams, subcontractors, and Project Managers
· Proficient with construction software (CoConstruct, Bluebeam)

Pay: $90,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
