Performs preventive maintenance, repairs and trouble-shoots all HVAC / Mechanical equipment throughout the City. This is a safety sensitive and/or DOT position. As such, you will be required to participate in random drug testing at the city.

Performs skilled work in maintaining and repairing HVAC and mechanical equipment.

Troubleshoots refrigerant and electrical control circuits to include direct digital controls.

Installs new equipment; replaces motors, pumps, compressors, actuator, sensors and digital control components.

Performs brazing of copper fittings and refrigerant recovery.

Performs Maintenance Technician duties that may include maintaining and repairing electrical circuits (switches, receptacles, lamps and ballast), plumbing (commercial and residential commodes and urinals repairs, clearing stoppages in sewer lines) and other assigned duties, both individually or alongside the facilities team.

Readily complies with departmental and countywide policies and procedures.

Performs related special projects as assigned.

Performs On Call Duty on a rotational basis.

Must be able to provide services for the benefit of the general public during emergency situations that threaten the safety of League City’s citizens, and that, City employees must be able to work immediately before, during, or immediately after an emergency.
