Description:
The Educational Service Center of Lake Erie West is seeking a Program Secretary – Curriculum and Instructional Innovation to provide administrative support under the general supervision of the Director of Curriculum and Instructional Innovation. This is a temporary full-time position, Monday–Friday, from 8:00am – 4:00pm, with a 30 minute lunch. This position includes enrollment in School Employees Retirement System (SERS).
Job Summary:
The Program Secretary completes secretarial tasks; provides
confidential administrative support; organizes and coordinates office
activities; acts as a liaison for administrators with ESC staff, school
district staff and community agencies; and serves internal and
external customers in a courteous and professional manner. In
addition, the Program secretary will coordinate conference room
scheduling and assist with the implementation or professional
development events.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Ohio Department of Education & Workforce
- policies and regulations and federal education policies andprocedures that apply to areas of responsibility
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to apply office practices and principles to solve everyday
problemswith discretionresponsibilities within designated timeframescorrespondence, forms, educational materials, grants, reports,memoranda, work orders and other items as required
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to react professionally in a crisis situation
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues
- Answer incoming calls and professionally assist the caller
- Maintains an efficient and functional filing system
- Responsibly collect and enter required data related to work
- Type, proofread, reproduce, collate, and disseminate
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or its equivalent.
- Experience and proficiency with computer applications
- including Microsoft Office; ability to use various web based computer applications to perform job duties
- Working knowledge of basic office procedures and operation of common office equipment and machines
- Ability to write and speak effectively and ability to promote positive customer relations substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment
- Complete a satisfactory background check
- Possess a valid driver’s license or have transportation
- Remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled

- Involves stress as a result of the responsibility to ensure that laws,
- regulations and procedural rules are followed, the responsibilityof dealing with individual student concerns and maintainingstudent discipline, and the demands of maintaining effectivecommunication with other staff members, students and parents
