We offer paid on the job training and DSHS education to successfully obtain your HCA license.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, meals and dressing.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Support clients in maintaining a clean and safe living environment
- Engage residents in activities to promote social interaction
- Help with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of care provided.
- Support clients with mobility needs, including lifting (50# or more) and transferring as necessary.
- Assist with catheter care and other specialized health needs.
- Implement care plans tailored to individual client requirements, including behavior management and dementia care strategies.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client privacy and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to monitor client progress and report any changes in condition.
Experience
- Previous experience in home health or senior care is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with medical records management and documentation practices is beneficial.
- Knowledge of catheter care procedures is a plus. Training will be offered.
- Experience providing home community care or working with individuals living with dementia is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with clients are essential.
- Must demonstrate reliability, empathy, and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must pass a background check through DSHS
Get a TB test done (on site) or chest x-ray (3rd party) within 3 days of hire
Send off HCA application to WA DOH within 14 days of hire
Obtain WA state Food Handlers card within 14 days of hire
Obtain an adult First Aid/CPR/AED certificate (on site) within 30 days of hire
Pass Dementia and Mental Health specialty classes (on site) within 120 days of hire
Pass HCA skills and written tests within 200 days of hire
**This position does include evenings, weekends and holidays
Morning shifts are 6am - 2pm (8 hour)
Evening shifts are 2pm - 10pm (8 hour)
Overnight shifts are 10pm - 8am (10 hour)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.50 - $19.50 per hour
