Breast Diagnostic Center is looking for 1 full time (40 hours/week) mammographer/ breast sonographer to join our growing team! As an ACR accredited facility, we are looking for a technologist who has an eye for detail and quality while providing compassionate patient care. This technologist will be responsible for performing a variety of screening and diagnostic breast imaging procedures.
Position Overview: Perform mammography and ultrasound breast imaging procedures according to the quality standards of the ACR and MQSA. Educate women of all ages on the essentials of breast health. Candidate will be cross-trained in one or more breast imaging modality, if not already trained/certified.
Hours for this role may vary depending on company needs.
Business hours are: Monday - Thursday : 715a - 8p, Friday : 715a - 5p. If Saturday coverage is needed, hours would be : 715a - 2p.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform both screening and diagnostic mammograms
- Weekly/daily Quality Control (QC) duties
- Dress and prep patients for exams
- Perform ultrasound exams (if trained/certified)
- Patient data entry and correspondence with reading room staff
- Relay exam results to patients
- Clean and stock all patient care areas and exam rooms
- Assist Radiologist with procedures: Aspirations, stereotactic biopsies, ultrasound guided biopsies, if trained/certified.
- Patient education- able to accurately answer patient questions pertaining to all modalities of breast imaging.
- Daily image transfer from machine to PACS system, Mobile only
- Accurately enter patient information into current medical record system.
- Appropriately follow MQSA and ACR guidelines.
- Engage with patients to ensure their experience with was is exceptional
- If performing exams and working on the Francine’s Friends Mobile Unit:
- Daily duties include all of the above, however the Mobile only performs screening mammograms.
- Communicate with Director of FF regarding coach mechanical status, maintenance, site information and marketing as needed.
- Ensure through working with the quality specialist at BDC that all related operational and maintenance documentation for the designated coach mammography equipment meets MQSA and QA guidelines
- All other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications and Skills:
- Knowledgeable and able to perform all mammographic views and meet the expected ACR criteria for screening mammograms and diagnostic mammograms
- If trained, can assist the Radiologist with Stereotactic Breast biopsies and Ultrasound Guided Breast procedures such as biopsies, aspirations, and needle localizations
- Shared lifting up to 150 pounds, as needed
- Basic computer skills
- Strong verbal and nonverbal communication skills
- Medical terminology knowledge
- Customer service experience
- Able to express cultural awareness and sensitivity
- Can work well with other team members and with the Radiologists
- Certification in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program
- Certification in Breast Sonography by an accredited body, preferred
- Experience as a certified mammographer, highly preferred
- Experience with breast sonography, preferred, but not required
- Experience with Stereotactic Breast Biopsy is ideal, but not required
- Current ARRT certification as a Radiologic Technologist
- Current state Radiologic Technologist License
- Current CPR certification
