Focus on Living, Inc is a 5 home Community Residential Setting looking for a reliable RN to join our team to care for individuals with Mental Illness/BI in a professional and considerate manner.
RN professionals must be qualified and compassionate. The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing diverse basic care as well as have background with setting medications.
Responsibilities
- Providing direct resident care in accordance with state, federal and company guidelines.
- Set prescribed medications at all program locations (total of 6 locations).
- Administer injections as prescribed.
- Record residents’ medical history accurately.
- Addressing problems identified in the resident care plan for review.
- Observe and monitor resident’s conditions to identify progress, side-effects of medications etc.
- Provide emotional and psychological support when needed.
- Communicate effectively with management, employees, and the resident’s guardians/teams.
Skills
- Proven experience as RN.
- Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices.
- Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiar with Adult Foster Care health, safety, and licensing standards.
- Excellent knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and able to manage stress.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current license by the Minnesota Board of Nursing to practice as an RN.
- Have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to pass and maintain a background clearance.
- Knowledge of standards of nursing practice and awareness of standards for compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Understanding of Adult Foster Care licensing requirements and/or willingness/capability to learn.
- Ability to interact with a variety of people and foster a team philosophy.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to both work effectively with minimal supervision and lead a group of people in completing tasks.
