Human Resources Generalist – Night Shift

We are looking for a motivated HR Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations and play a key role in workforce administration, employee accountability, and employee relations support; helping deliver consistent, high-quality employee experience across both production and office teams.

Key Responsibilities
· Corrective Action Administration
· Coordinate and maintain the company's corrective action and disciplinary process
· Review corrective action documentation for completeness, accuracy, and policy compliance
· Partner with supervisors and managers to ensure consistent application of company policies
· Track active disciplinary actions and follow-up requirements
· Assist leadership in maintaining accurate employee records and documentation
· Monitor attendance trends and support attendance accountability processes
Workforce Management & Temp-to-Hire Conversions
· Coordinate the conversion process for temporary employees transitioning to direct employment
· Partner with staffing agencies to maintain accurate workforce records
· Monitor eligibility and readiness for conversion opportunities
· Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and timely
· Support workforce planning needs and staffing initiatives across departments
· Maintain strong working relationships with staffing agency partners
Employee Relations & Investigations
· Serve as an HR resource for employees and supervisors during night shift operations
· Conduct basic workplace investigations involving attendance, policy violations, and employee concerns
· Gather statements, documentation, and relevant facts for review
· Escalate complex employee relations matters to HR leadership as appropriate
· Promote a respectful, professional, and policy-compliant work environment
· Partner with HR leadership to ensure consistent handling of employee concerns
HR Operations & Compliance
· Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data
· Ensure compliance with federal, state (Texas), and company policies
· Assist with audits, reporting, and policy updates
· Support documentation management and record retention requirements
Recruiting & Staffing Support
· Support hiring efforts for production and office positions as needed
· Assist with applicant screening, interview coordination, and hiring activities
· Participate in onboarding and orientation activities when required
· Support department staffing initiatives during high-volume hiring periods
Employee Engagement & Company Initiatives
· Support company-wide engagement efforts, programs, and initiatives designed to enhance the employee experience
· Assist with coordination and execution of internal activities as needed (e.g., employee appreciation, seasonal initiatives, wellness efforts)
· Provide on-site support for key initiatives to ensure smooth execution
· Collaborate with leadership to continuously improve engagement strategies and participation
Qualifications
Required
· 0–2 years of experience in HR or related field
· High School Diploma or GED; additional certifications or coursework preferred
· Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other relevant tools
· Enthusiastic, adaptable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
· Ability to read, comprehend, and write instructions, correspondence, and memos in English
· Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities
· Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership and accountability; follows through on responsibilities, takes initiative, and proactively identifies and resolves issues
· Interest in obtaining HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR)
· Ability to perform activities such as lifting (up to 40 lbs.), pushing, pulling, reaching, stooping, crouching and standing for prolonged periods.
Preferred
· Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex)
· Basic knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
· HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, PHRa)
· Proficiency in Canva Visual Suite
· Comfortable presenting and speaking to groups of 10–60 people

Work Schedule
· Standard schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM
· This role requires flexibility to work additional hours as needed to support hiring, onboarding, and operational demands investigations, staffing needs, and workforce initiatives.
· Occasional weekend support is required, including Saturdays and Sundays, based on business needs and company initiatives
· Fully on-site role in San Antonio, TX
· Serves as the primary HR presence during night shift operations
Day To Day
This is a highly interactive role supporting both office and production teams. A typical day may include:
· Reviewing attendance trends and corrective action documentation
· Coordinating temporary employee conversions to direct hire status
· Walking the production floor to support supervisors and employees
· Assisting employees with HR-related inquiries
· Meeting with employees regarding attendance, policy, or workplace concerns
· Conducting basic investigations and gathering employee statements
· Coordinating with staffing agencies regarding workforce needs and employee status changes
· Maintaining employee records, documentation, and HRIS data
· Partnering with leadership to support workforce planning and employee accountability initiatives
During peak production periods or special initiatives, you may also support weekend operations, hiring activities, or company-sponsored events.
Work Environment
This role operates in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment supporting both production and office teams. The HR Generalist will spend time both in an office setting and actively on the production floor.
· Late evening work time aligns with production operations
· Frequent movement between departments, including extended time walking the production floor
· High interaction with employees at all levels, including hourly production staff and leadership
· Exposure to typical manufacturing conditions (noise, temperature changes, and active equipment)
· Requires strong organization, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
This position is best suited for individuals who are proactive, hands-on, and comfortable working in an environment where priorities can shift quickly and visibility is high.
