Do you love dogs and aren't afraid of hard work? We're looking for reliable, energetic team members to join our daycare and boarding team. This is a physically demanding position that requires confidence around dogs of all sizes, strong attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm in a fast-paced environment.
Our Dog Handlers are responsible for maintaining safe playgroups, monitoring canine behavior, providing excellent care, and helping keep our facility clean and sanitary. Successful candidates understand that working with dogs includes cleaning, managing behavior, and ensuring every dog has a safe and positive experience. Responsibilities commonly include supervising playgroups, monitoring behavior and body language, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the safety of all dogs in care.
Responsibilities
- Supervise groups of off-leash dogs in daycare playgroups
- Monitor canine body language and behavior to maintain a safe environment
- Intervene appropriately when dogs become overstimulated or unsafe
- Clean and sanitize play areas, kennels, crates, bowls, and facility surfaces
- Pick up waste and maintain overall facility cleanliness throughout the day
- Feed, water, and provide basic care for daycare and boarding dogs
- Accurately document incidents, injuries, medications, and behavior concerns
- Assist with dog check-ins and check-outs as needed
- Communicate professionally with coworkers and pet parents
- Follow all company safety protocols and handling procedures
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and remain active for an entire shift
- Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
- Ability to work weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Previous dog daycare, kennel, veterinary, shelter, grooming, or animal handling experience is a plus but not required
Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour
